It’s an odd feeling to sit here in 2026, writing about a trend that is simultaneously making software engineers panic and hardware designers celebrate. The narrative has flipped. For the last decade, we were told that code was everything. If you could build an app, you could rule the world.

But as generative AI becomes proficient at writing logic—at handling the "what"—the premium has shifted aggressively to the "how" and the "where." The "where" is increasingly physical: silicon, energy, and infrastructure.

The Great Migration of Value

Why This Matters for Us

The new "software" is actually hardware.

It’s in:

We are entering a phase where the most "intellectual" work will be done by people who understand the physical constraints of our machines. It's a humbling correction. We spent years building castles in the sky; now, we're being asked to lay a more solid foundation.
